Water resources are of vital importance to our region and the future of our children. The Cities of Westminster, Northglenn and Thornton are pleased to offer the 13th Annual Northglenn-Thornton-Westminster Water Festival.
The Water Festival is a fun, educational experience for students, teacher and parents. The next Water Festival has been scheduled for Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Front Range Community College in Westminster. To encourage participation, the Cities are covering the cost of the Water Festival and we will arrange and pay for bus transportation. Please check to make sure this date doesn't coincide with other end of the year activities such as field day or testing.
The Water Festival will engage students with topics such as water conservation, the history of Colorado water law, water chemistry, the water cycle, local water systems, aquatic wildlife and ecology. Students will have fun with hands on activities while learning about local and global water issues. And did we mention it was FREE?
Festival hours are 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A 30-minute lunch period will be scheduled for schools at the Festival.
Registration deadline is November 18, 2016.
Space is limited so early registration is recommended. Due to the popularity of the Water Festival, participating schools will be selected from all those who register. You will receive a confirmation letter in December, if your school is chosen to attend. To help us schedule your class, please click the registration button to submit your school's water festival registration information.
While planned for fifth grade classes, fourth grade classes may attend if the water festival is curriculum appropriate. Only one grade per school please.
