ASOP 2K Breast Health Walk - October 8, 2011 

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and All Shades of Pink is sponsoring its first 2K Breast Health Walk.  Guess what? It's inside The Mall at Prince Georges, 3500 East-West Highway in front of Macy's. Did you know that one out of 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in your lifetime.  That according to the American Cancer Society approximately 200,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.  In the State of Maryland approximately 4,000 women will encounter their own personal journey with breast cancer.  Research has shown that early detection saves lives.  All Shades of Pink encourages everyone to be proactive in their breast health.  Learn more about breast cancer and what you can do to maintain good breast health and make a difference in the lives of women.

For the thousands of women and men diagnosed with breast cancer just in this region, addressing the emotional, physicial and financial stresses such a diagnosis brings can be overwhelming.  All Shades of Pink through their Pink Signature Initiative seeks to help lessen the stress.  Proceeds raised from this event will go toward support of our Pink Signature Initiative programs and services.
