It's official Fenestration West Magazine is a huge success.  We have distribution list that includes architects, engineers, glazing contractors, window and door manufacturers, building envelope consultants, industry suppliers and government officials.  Our magazine also reaches out to secondary high schools in BC in an attempt to raise the awareness for a high school grad how interesting a career in teh fenestration industry can be. 

Fenestration West distribution list also includes, architects, engineers and specifiers in other parts of North America, included all of Canada and Pacific Northwest states.

Our goal is to provide thoughtful, meaningful, relevant articles to the fenestration industry.

Thermal Performance of Glazing Spandrel Systems

With the growing number of all-glazed building designs and the tightening of energy codes and standards, the question for many in the building industry has become, "How can we get the look we want AND meet thermal performance goals with these systems?" This talk will go over what can be expected for the thermal resistance of glazing system spandrels and what approaches can improve (or diminish) that performance. This includes strategies in system design and in construction detailing with regards to transitions with other building components.
