An interactive webinar that reviews the American College Health Association guidelines to include:

  • College and university expectations of fraternal organizations
  • ACHA recommendations for campuses
  • Understanding your legal obligations, and 
  • Methods for mitigating PR concerns

Dawn Wiese, Plaid -  Louisville, KY

Dawn is vice president and partner at Plaid, an organizational training and development firm that helps people and teams be better versions of themselves.  Dawn's work in Plaid focuses on higher education, specifically, strategy at the Board level, overseeing quantitative and qualitative research related to behavioral change, and serving on legal teams for which she's a designated court expert on high-risk decision making. Dawn has presented extensively and has published more than 15 articles or chapters on topics ranging from crisis management to Title IX.  Wiese completed her bachelor's and master's degrees at Virginia Tech, and her PhD at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  

Micah Kamrass, Fraternal Law - Indianapolis, IN

Micah’s practice focuses on higher education law, real estate law, municipal law, and civil litigation.  Micah serves as the Editor of Fraternal Law, monitors the National Anti-Hazing Hotline, and organizes, hosts and presents at the annual National Fraternal Law Conference. He also serves as an adjunct professor of higher education law at the University of Louisville.

Micah attended The Ohio State University for undergraduate, graduate, and law school and recently completed his doctorate at Vanderbilt University. While at OSU, he served as Student Body President where he represented 40,000 students. Micah was also President of the Ohio State University chapter of Alpha Epsilon Pi and served as a member the Alpha Epsilon Pi international Supreme Board of Governors. He has been published numerous times in Fraternal Law.

Micah clerked with the Ohio State University Office of Legal Affairs and the Columbus City Attorney’s Office. He joined Manley Burke as a clerk in 2013 and became an associate in 2014.

Jon Pierce, Pierce Communications - Albany, NY
Jon is the founder and president of Pierce Communications. Among his particular areas of expertise are media relations, crisis communications, and public awareness campaigns.

Jon is an Accredited Public Relations professional, has twice been awarded Presidential Citations from the Public Relations Society of America for his contributions to the profession in the Capital Region, and has had client work recognized with a Silver Anvil award, the highest honor awarded by PRSA. In addition, he has been honored three times with a Mark of Excellence Award from the Albany chapter of the American Marketing Association.

Active in higher education as an adjunct professor in public relations, Jon is also a past-national president of Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. Jon earned his bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University and completed his MBA at The Ohio State University.
