Optics and Hands-on Refractometry

Course Details: 

The 6.0 hour course will consist of a 2.0 hour didactic session on optics, including transposition followed by a hands-on session to learn refractometry.

At the conclusion of this class the attendee will:

• Describe emmetropia and ametropia
• List and explain refractive errors
• Discuss the application of concave and convex lenses to hyperopia and myopia, respectively
• Perform basic refractometry in minus cylinder
• Apply the age appropriate add for reading
• Transpose glasses prescriptions between plus and minus cylinders
