The 2017 South Carolina Young Filmmakers Project

SPREAD THE WORD:  The 2017 South Carolina Young Filmmakers Project is now accepting entries!

The SOUTH CAROLINA YOUNG FILMMAKERS PROJECT is an annual statewide high school filmmaking competition, hosted by Trident Technical College and the S.C. Film Commission. All high school students in grades 9-12 who are residents of South Carolina are eligible to enter the short-film competition, including public, private and home school students.

To participate, students must create a short film (two-minutes max) telling a cinematic story in any genre, following a creative challenge and other rules of each year's contest.  Designed to foster media arts skills and bring attention to the next generation of South Carolina media professionals, the 2017 contest will begin soon.

WHAT’S NEW?  You must include a specific prop in your story, with it shown clearly at least once. This year’s prop?  PADLOCK AND KEY.  Any type will work.  Use your imagination.

Be creative and tell a great story and you could be on your way to becoming the next great filmmaker.  Not to mention winning CASH AND PRIZES and a SPOT ON THE RED CARPET!

Deadline for entries is Friday, October 9, 2017. For complete rules and entry forms, visit www.indiegrants.org And check out our YouTube channel to watch last year's winners.
