Quilt Block Afghan Class with Susan Chastain

Susan's model: A=yellow; B=blue; C=peach; D=green; E=coral; F=cream
Supplies & Homework
Supplies
- 5 balls (200 yds each) in different colors of worsted weight yarn (i.e. Encore,Vintage,Venezia Worsted)
- 2 balls of a sixth color (= color F). Color F will be used for the center square and borders (for example, use 5 pastel colors, and add white for color F).
- Work the center square prior to class, see homework section below for instructions.
- Scrap yarn
- Chibi or tapesry needle
- A couple of lock ring markers
(Make sure that if your yarn needs to be wound you have 1 ball ready in each color prior to the start of class)
Homework
- With scrap yarn, work a provisional cast on, casting on 19 sts. With Color F, K 39 rows (= 20 garter ridges with right side facing. Note that row 1 is a wrong side row).
- Do not bind off.
Gauge: 14sts = 4" in GARTER stitch (try size 10 needle)
