OCTOBER SMPS ALASKA LUNCHEON - Next Week!
The Future of Alaska Energy - The All Alaska Energy Project

Join SMPS Alaska for an overview of the future of energy in Alaska: the proposed All Alaska Energy ProjectLongtime Alaska energy advocate Brent Petrie will be discussing this plan to build a natural-gas-fueled power plant on Alaska’s North Slope that distributes power throughout the state using high voltage direct current (HVDC) power lines. Brent’s discussion will include the implications and opportunities this project will provide the Alaska A/E/C industry.

About the Speaker: Brent Petrie recently retired from the AVEC, where he managed the development of various projects including renewable energy projects. Prior to AVEC, Brent served as the General Manager for the Illiamna Newhalen Nondalton (INN) Electric Cooperative. While at INN Electric Cooperative, Brent oversaw the Illiamna Tazimina Hydroelectric project, which produces 80% of the electrical energy for villages in the Illiamna area. Brent’s career also includes serving in multiple positions including Director of Planning and Director of Operations at the Alaska Energy Authority over the course of 13 years. Brent is now involved with the development of the All Alaska Energy Project, which he believes will provide more power to more Alaskans in less time than any other alternative presently available.

Register below by Friday, October 11th.
