SMPS ALASKA AND AIA BUILDING TOUR
Fairbanks International Airport
 SMPS Alaska and AIA take flight in a behind-the-screens tour of the Fairbanks International Airport, recently named one of the “World’s 9 Beautiful Airports” by Atlantic Cities.
Learn the building’s history, specialized systems, local materials, Interior Alaska influence and complex phasing that made this $70 million redevelopment a reality. Airport Engineer Steve Henry, PE, will lead the tour and answer questions about the design features, functions and future plans for the airport. Be sure to ask them why the bathrooms look like outhouses!
The tour will run from 4:00-5:00 pm, drinks and appetizers immediately following on the deck at Pike’s Landing. Bettisworth North will sponsor appetizers.
Park in the paid lot (airport will validate), and meet in the lower level of the airport at the seating area by Ravn Airlines/Gate A.
