FireFly Fling 2011 

Firefly Fling, THE Summer Festival for Families is a great mid-summer event on Saturday, July 16 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. Admission is $8 for individuals, $24 for families of 4, and $40 for groups of 6. There are no paper tickets. Prepaid admissions will be checked in by last name. Others can pay for admission that evening with cash or credit card.

Firefly focuses on outdoor, nature-oriented activities and entertainment for all ages. The early hour from 6:00 to 7:00 will feature fun for preschool children and their parents. Jules Taylor of Shakey Bugs will perform at 6:30. The Little Sprouts area around the umbrellas will be reserved for preschool fun. Throughout the evening, children and parents can find a variety of activity stations, including building fairy houses and cooking bread on a stick.

 During the evening, Bongo Willie will entertain with an interactive performance using percussion instruments.  Fairy Willow will be on hand to greet visitors and will have a photo area to pose with young fans. The Firefly store will sell a variety of popular items, including haloes, wings, led glow flashlights and tee shirts. Tropical Smoothie will sell a full range of food and smoothies and BrainFreeze Shaved Ice will be selling their product as well. BGO will offer water and soft drinks. Popsicle plans to give away treats.

 After dark, guests will enjoy the entertaining performances of Trike Theater and Kindling Spirit. The evening will end with sky lanterns like last year but with a twist – businesses may sponsor lanterns and participate in the launch.
