1:15 p.m. Book signing with David Feherty
David Feherty is a Northern Ireland-born, former professional golfer on the European and PGA Tours. With 10 victories worldwide, he retired from the sport in 1997 to become a golf commentator for CBS. Thanks to his sharp wit and colorful personality, Feherty has become golf’s favorite announcer. He also hosts his own weekly show on the Golf Channel, currently the network’s most popular program. Feherty’s success extends beyond broadcasting; he’s authored six books, each chocked full with belly-busting humor, including his latest New York Times bestseller, The Power of Positive Idiocy, which includes his perspective on addiction. David Feherty will join Arapahoe House in the fall to speak not only of his golfing success, but living in recovery from alcohol. “I didn’t quit drinking because I was a bad drunk,” he said. “I quit because I was a spectacular drunk. It got to be like a video game, where you get to the highest level and it’s not even a challenge.” Feherty’s rehabilitative tool is humor, he knows the healing value of laughter and uses it to charm anyone in his path.
