A Special Teacher Professional Development tour to Hermosillo, the capital and main economic center of Sonora, Mexico


 

Teaching Economics and Entrepreneurship aligned with the Arizona Academic Standards

October 7-11, 2018

  • Enhance knowledge in international trade and entrepreneurship to teach economics and financial literacy
  • Develop relationships with economics, business, and finance teachers in Mexico through lectures and tours of universities and schools
  • Learn the monetary and banking system in Mexico with a tour of the Central Bank of Mexico
  • Experience a new culture as well as sightsee around Hermosillo and Kino Bay
  • Meet international business owners and entrepreneurs
  • Network and make new friends!

 

Itinerary

Day 1: Departure from Phoenix/Tucson; Arrival in Hermosillo, Mexico; Check in to hotel; Welcome dinner.

Day 2: Breakfast; Visit schools and companies; Lunch; Sight-seeing and learning the culture; Dinner.

Day 3: Breakfast; Visit the Central Bank of Mexico Cash Processing Center; Lunch; Visit universities with lecture; Dinner.

Day 4: Breakfast; Visit companies doing business with the U.S.; Travel to Kino Bay; Lunch; Dinner.

Day 5: Breakfast; Hotel check out; Departure from Hermosillo; Arrival in Phoenix/Tucson.

Cost: $650 registration fee includes 5 days/4 nights hotel accommodation (double occupancy), roundtrip ground transportation (Phoenix or Tucson to Hermosillo), 11 meals, and 18 hours of professional development! Additional $150 fee for single occupancy room.

Valid passport is required & traveler’s medical insurance is recommended.

$100 deposit is required to reserve your seat by 9/1/2018 with full payment received by 9/10/2018.
