In 2017, disasters affected nearly 25 million people,* yet 83 percent of Americans are unprepared for one.** And, since 2017, the occurrence of weather-related disasters has increased by 33 percent.** Allstate agency owners across Charleston are teaming up with the American Red Cross to raise awareness about the need for people to be prepared if a disaster strikes.

Community members are invited to pick up a free Allstate Disaster Preparedness kit from a local participating Allstate agency from Monday, March 11 – Friday, March 15, while supplies last.

Each kit includes a helpful American Red Cross guide that walks people through the necessities needed in the case of a disaster and includes items to help them start building their kits, including a first aid kit, emergency blanket, flashlight, rain poncho and water bottle.
