Greyhound Gathering - Kanab 2016
Celebrate loving greyhounds with three plus days of fun and fundraising, food and frolic, talks and tales, costume parade and more. Registration fees:
March 5 - April 15: $88 per person.
April 16 - May 1 - $110 per person. All registrations close on May 1.
Highlights include:
- Blur of Fur - hounds chase humans on a strip of grass, while being clocked by radar
- Costume Parade - everyone goes all out and the crowds cheer to see hounds looking oh so miserable - I mean majestic - dressed in all their finery. There will be music, a stage and prizes.
- Dancing with Dogs - Live music while we dance off our dinner with our dogs and Kanab residents on Main Street.
- Wild West Movie Tours - Two chances to experience Kanab through all the old western movies filmed here
- Meals - The best meals you've ever had at a greyhound event! All you can eat Pizza. Then Chef Shon's fabulous food - Reception appetizers. Lunches of Cajun wrap & Native American Fry Bread. Cookies for dessert. Saturday night - Gourmet S'mores at Angels Landing.
- Thursday Reception - Dallying at the Dog Park. Big Brown Bear Wrestling, Pet Painting & Greyhound Agility Demo - while you make new friends, and meet the old.
- Photo Contest - Enter a picture or two or three - and win a greyt prize. Pictures on display during Gathering.
- Best Friends Angels Landing Yappy Hour, Dinner and Festivities - with a welcome by Faith Maloney - Best Friends founder.
- Auctions & Raffle - Live & Silent Auctions and Woof Raffle - with over 1000 items for your spending pleasure.
- Artisans - Sarah Snavely, Silk Road Collars, Greyhound Topia, Greyhound Gang, Aid4Greys, Scooby Medina
- Best Friends Tours - on your own time
- Memory Photo & Candids - Professional 8x10 photo of you and your hounds. Free candid photos will be available after the Gathering for you to download.
- Hikes - throughout the red rocks of Utah
- Pre-Orders - Guests will be able to pre-order FANTASTIC items at discounted prices prior to the Gathering.
Every guest will get an email with a link. This year we have Bad Tags and high-end customized jewelry - ONLY available during pre-order. Of course, during pre-order you can get all the fun T-shirts, hats and sweatshirts at discounted prices, too. There will be limited stock at the Gathering.
You'll want lots of these. They are used for the over 200 raffle items - valued from $5 to $150. They'll get you spins on the Greyt Wheel of Fortune - where every spin is a winner. At the reception, your hound can do Big Brown Bear Wrestling. You can Paint Your Pet. Tickets are $1 each. Or in advance 25 for $20.
