Part I - Government Grant Compliance
For companies that have received or are looking to receive a Federal award. We’ll highlight the
administrative and audit requirements and discuss the applicable cost principles to ensure that your company is aware of and compliant with such requirements. It will also include a discussion surrounding setting-up QuickBooks, and calculating the company’s indirect rate.

PRESENTERS:
Kevin Kelbel
Kevin is a partner with Smith & Gesteland. He understands the unique issues facing high-tech businesses. He has assisted several clients through the stages of establishing the business entity; SBIR grant availability and reporting; establishing stock option plans; dealing with income, payroll and sales tax issues; financing; and managing the growth of the business. He has participated in advisory boards of local high-tech companies and is a frequent speaker on high-tech business issues
Wanda Bird
Wanda is a Manager with Smith & Gesteland. She works with closely held companies, specializing in high-tech, start-up and growing businesses. Areas of expertise include SBIR and grant accounting, income tax, payroll and payroll tax, sales tax and software selection and support.
Ashley Pick
Ashley is a Manager with Smith & Gestelad. She works with high-tech businesses, specializing in Government Audits. Ashley ensures businesses are compliant with grant policies and procedures by providing guidance on required accounting systems, appropriate internal controls, and other compliance issues, such as allowable costs/activities and adequate time & effort reporting.
