Oct 27th. IFMA Monthly Feature Program Communication Competency

Do you effectively communicate with your team members? How about with your senior leadership?

You might be surprised to discover your “true colors” at the next IFMA Monthly Feature, outlining the topic of Communication.

Daniel R. Rodriguez, M.B.A., CFM

Collier County Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Division Director

Mr. Rodriguez has provided leadership within Collier County Government for over 24 years. He has helped build a solid foundation for several Divisions including Parks and Recreation, Fleet Management, Facilities Management and, currently, Solid and Hazardous Waste Management.

Mr. Rodriguez was the Facilities Manager for Collier County for 8 years. During his tenure, he was able to implement the ARCIBUS Work Order System and reduce the open work orders from 2400 to less than 60. This new system allowed Dan to increase the productivity and efficiency of his entire team, which resulted in his national recognition for work order management at the Kennedy Center in Boston. Currently, within the Public Utilities Department Dan plays an active role in planning for new capital construction, as well as preventative and predictive maintenance to further preserve County assets.

Dan is currently the Director for the Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Division for Collier County. He manages facilities such as an active, Class I Landfill, a transfer station, four recycling centers, and a Hazardous Materials Collections Center. Additionally, the Division has been recognized nationally by the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) with the 2009 Gold Special Waste Award for the Marco Island Recycling Center program. In 2010, the Division earned the Silver Excellence Award for Landfill Reuse for completing one of the largest landfill reclamation projects in the country.
