Riding the Backcountry Discovery Routes 

Oregon is central to some of the best riding in the world. You don’t have to travel far to enjoy world-class landscapes and breathtaking vistas. Unfortunately too many dualsport enthusiast and adventure riders look beyond what is close to home and do not realize that the western edge of the North American continent is a destination for adventure riders from around the world. The Backcountry Discovery Routes (BDR) are the perfect way to begin exploring what America has to offer and can be done using 1-2 weeks vacation time from work.

Come listen to Puget Sound Safety Off Road (PSSOR's) Bret Tkacs as he entertains you with stories of his travels and walks you through the process of selecting and building his bike and kit  (camping / travel supplies), while sharing highlights of what the BDRs have to offer. He will focus on the nearest BDRs to us, the Washington (WABDR) and the Utah (UTBDR).

Bret is a world class motorcycle trainer with 17 years experience training riders on the pavement and dirt. He has authored multiple on-road and off-road motorcycle training curriculum including tactical riding courses for the military, track based courses for civilians (www.smartcornering.com), and of course dualsport / adventure courses (www.advcamp.com).  He even offers a fully supported training ride along the WABDR for riders wanting to develop and polish their skills with a trainer/guide while on tour.
