The Fairview Learning reading program, designed specifically for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, reflects years of collaboration among educators of the deaf and utilizes best practices. Fairview's unique research based program that provides individuals the literacy tools to construct mental, linguistic frameworks. These frameworks, specific to each user, allow for access to and increasing fluency in English and ASL, and ease the movement between the two languages. The program can be seamlessly integrated into any existing reading program, and is both user-friendly and fun.
Fairview Learning Training Series
The principles and techniques of Fairview Learning will be presented in 6-Days, which span over the current school year and culminating in the Fall/Winter of 2018. RMTC-D/HH has a limited number of spots for participants and will provide training and ongoing coaching support. Participants will be selected via a short application process (included on the registration page) and by the ability to commit to program requirements.

Faiview Learning is designed as a Tier 3 intervention for students who are D/HH in elementary through high school classrooms. The program has been research proven and continues to be improved and refined upon in their model clinic in Salt Lake City, Utah. It has been implemented with students who use Listening and Spoken Language and American Sign Language. It also meets guidelines for English language learners. The program research shows that after nine months of intervention, students improve their reading by 1.3-1.5 years worth of growth. Daily progress monitoring is integrated in the instruction.

RMTC-D/HH will not be providing CEUs but will provide the paperwork to apply for an independent study plan. Contact your credentialing agency to apply before attending the workshop.
**Note: In order to receive a certificate of completion, you will need to complete a follow-up activity (a Florida work location administrator or supervisor should review, verify, and confirm completion of the follow-up activity) and submit it to RMTC-D/HH.
