Florida Vision and Deaf/Hard of Hearing

Joint District Contacts 2019-2020 Meeting

On Thursday and Friday, October 24 & 25, 2019, the Florida Department of Education, Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (BEESS) will host a meeting specifically for district contacts responsible for the programs for students who are deaf/hard of hearing and programs for students who are visually impaired. It is recommended that the district contact person for the deaf/hard of hearing program AND the person responsible for the vision program attend this meeting to network and discuss initiatives specific to your district's students who are deaf/hard of hearing or visually impaired.
Reimbursement for hotel accommdations (up to $150) is available for up to two persons per district (one for D/HH and one for VI) for pariticipants traveling more than 50 miles (calculated using the state map). Additional people may attend the meeting, but the district will only be reimbursed for one participant for D/HH and one participant for VI. Rooms may be shared. It is advisable to make hotel reservations as soon as possible. Travel and per diem will be reimbursed through the Panhandle Area Educational Consortium (PAEC).

The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) Outreach Department invites you to the FSDB Expo on the school campus, specifically designed with you in mind. The Expo will showcase school resources offered to current students and outreach services for school districts serving deaf/hard of hearing and blind/visually impaired students. What to expect? Visit, learn and interact at resources exhibits and network with others in the field.
