Local Contractors Lend a Hand
to Replace Porch for Providence House

CLEVELAND, OHIO - SEPTEMBER 6, 2019 - Making improvements and building walls is nothing new for members of the Greater Cleveland Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).  Neither is lending a hand in the community to those who could use some help.  So when Providence House approached NARI with repair work on one of their buildings, member volunteers stepped up to assist them with their remodeling needs.

On Friday, September 6th, NARI members and contractor volunteers will be on site at Providence House’s 2037 W. 33rd Street location in Cleveland to replace an existing upper and lower level front porch.  All labor and materials are being donated by members of NARI Greater Cleveland to support this worthwhile cause.

Since NARI believes creating a better world begins at the local level, NARI Cares was established by their Community Outreach Committee to reach out to those in need in Greater Cleveland and surrounding neighborhoods.  All projects are done strictly by volunteers donating their time, talents and materials to help others in need.  NARI volunteers have logged hundreds of hours helping low-income, elderly, physically disabled, and/or community groups with repairs and construction projects the recipients could not otherwise afford or complete on their own.

Providence House is Ohio’s first and one of the nation's longest operating crisis nurseries among the 70+ in operation in the US and Canada today.  They offer free, voluntary (non-custodial) emergency shelter to children newborn through twelve years old, actively living in crisis situations which place them at risk of abuse or neglect.

“Being part of the NARI Cares community allows all NARI members a chance to give back to the community, “says Brian Pauley of Remodel Me Today , who is the Project Manager for this NARI Cares project.  “When we learned more about all the good that Providence House does for local children, we immediately knew it was an organization we wanted to be involved with.  We are looking forward to getting their home on West 33rd street in more livable conditions for its program participants.”

Materials for the project were donated by Mentor Lumber and Home Depot.  All labor was donated by NARI members from:  Remodel Me Today; R.B. Schwarz, Inc.; Artistic Renovations of Ohio LLC; JEMM Construction, LLC; PODS Enterprises LLC; Trevarrow; Amped Audio Video; Odell Construction; Famous Supply; Absolute Roofing & Construction; and local contractors from Cleveland Restoration Company and Shank's Custom Home Improvement.  A dumpster was provided and donated by Chuck-It-Containers.  Lunch was provided to all volunteers by Ferguson Bath, Kitchen and Lighting Gallery.
