October Networking Meeting

Connecting with the Neighbourhood Connections Office

Join the National Capital Environmental Network for our first networking meeting after our Summer break.

Find out how your ENGO can get involved in the City of Ottawa - Neighbourhood Connection Office. Want to do something new in your neighbourhood? The City of Ottawa’s new Neighbourhood Connection Office provides an easy way for neighborhood and community groups to connect with the City, so they can be actively involved in improving their neighbourhoods. It’s a Term of Council priority to “support residents’ ability to make sustainable choices, and improve quality of life”. The Neighbourhood Connection Office will certainly contribute to this. It makes the City more accessible for those who want to effect change at the neighbourhood-level and it promotes ‘complete, liveable’ neighbourhoods – the hallmarks of sustainable communities. Julea Boswell, from the City’s Neighbourhood Sustainability Branch will be on hand to chat and answer questions about the NCO.

The NCEN is open to all local environmental groups in the national capital region.  Our goal is to host monthly networking gatherings for environmental non-profit staff, board members, and volunteers and to hold special capacity-building sessions twice a year.

The Fall monthly gatherings will be held on October 17th, and November 21st in a room at City Hall (With none in December, and starting again in January. Dates TBD)

Please bring an update from your organization for our monthly roundtable so we can keep connected and find ways to collaborate!
