The 172 named islands and reefs in San Juan County make up an area known for its pristine air quality, crisp temperatures and natural beauty beyond compare. Join South Coast Sailing Adventures aboard a luxurious monohull vessel as we visit horseshoe-shaped Orcas Island, Friday Harbor, and the old-growth forest of Moran State Park.
Departing Bellingham, Washington, vessels will sail the protected waters of the Salish Sea to the city of Victoria, Britich Columbia, and tie up at the famous Empress Hotel in the heart of the city. The trip includes a stop at Lopez Island for hiking and exploring as well a visit to the Rosario Resort on Orcas Island. Raft up, enjoy a beach barbecue, marvel at the abundant wildlife that often includes whales, dolphins, sea otters and bald eagles and find yourself swept away by the beauty and peace of nature.
Planned stops also include Lummi Island, Vancouver Island, San Juan Island, Lime Kiln Point State Park, and many quaint island towns featuring idyllic anchorages. This amazing opportunity for sailing, seamanship, adventure and exploration includes optional group activities such as campfires, potlucks, group dinners, a hosted reception and impromptu sailboat races.
Weather is generally mild in June with little rain and high temperatures are typically near 70. Breathe deep….relax….get comfortable…you’re on northwest island time.
SCSA joins this ASA Flotilla with package fees ranging from $1800-2300 per person, double occupancy. Pricing includes charter fees, daily damage waiver and liability coverage fees, flotilla fees, linens & towels, dinghy with 2HP outboard, skippers meeting, onboard systems checkout, all applicable taxes, ASA-hosted cruising party, arrival evening barbecue and preboard/sleepaboard. The flotilla price does NOT include airfare, provisioning, meals ashore, dock/moorage fees, or fuel.
General Schedule Information:
Friday, June 23 Arrive in Bellingham, Washington. 4:00 skipper safety briefing and local orientation, then an onboard systems checkout. Hosted evening barbecue. Sleep aboard.
Saturday, June 24 Depart the dock for week-long sailing in the San Juan Islands
Friday, June 30 Return to the dock by noon for departure home
Non-refundable $250 per person deposit is due immediately.
Full balance is due no later than May 15, 2017.
