Frameworks: Re-Framing Health and Human Services Workshops

***NOTE: An organization's Executive Director is required by the trainers to attend Day 1 (April 1, 2019 from 10-11:30 a.m.). If an Executive Director does not attend Day 1, staff/representatives of that organization will not be allowed to attend Day 2 (April 10, 2019).

It’s time to change the story we’re telling! Your organization’s story is vital in helping the public understand what you do, and how and why you do it. Yet storytelling that includes unproductive language and messaging can have a negative impact on the perception of your field.

We want to promote the value of our sector in a way that resonates with the public and communicates how human services benefits all members of society. It starts with changing the way we talk about ourselves.

Join us as we look beyond the story to learn about re-framing—a new communications strategy that is proven to build broader and deeper support for human services. Learn how the power of words that include metaphors and research-driven values can reframe the value of health and human services in McHenry County.

You’re invited to a hands-on exploration of strategic, evidence-based ways to share your organization’s story and accomplishments through two interactive workshops. This course, brought to you by Illinois Partners for Human Service in partnership with the National Human Services Assembly, is designed to share the research behind the recommendations, discuss how to avoid communication traps and offer practical ways to apply the powerful reframe strategy to your own communications.

Day 1: April 1, 2019 from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
