The Council PTAs of Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena and South Pasadena, are pleased to invite you to the 4th Annual Community Forum on Public Education.

This year, the focus of the forum will be to present and explore the adoption and implementation of Common Core Standards in California and in our local school districts.  To help us learn about the many facets of this undertaking, we have assembled a panel of knowledgeable presenters:

 Nancy Brownell
California Department of Education -- Senior Fellow for Common Core Systems Implementation

who will discuss: 

  • Common Core Implementation
  • Common Core Assessments 
  •  

    Ron Bennett
    CEO, School Services of California

    who will discuss:

  • Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF)
  • Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)
  • and

    Patty Scripter
    California State PTA, VP of Education

    who will provide an update on California PTA's activities

      Also  . . . a panel of representatives from GUSD, SPUSD and BUSD, will provide an update on LCFF, LCAF and Common Core with a Q&A period to follow.
