This 1-day workshop introduces fiber optic theory, concepts of single mode and multi-mode, cleaning, installation, testing and troubleshooting techniques. No prerequisites required. However, recommended is that participants have some experience in operating testing equipment such as light source & power meter, OTDR and VFL. The topics covered are for setup, general use and data interpretation. Participants will receive hands-on experience with hand-held and video fiber scopes, fiber cleaning equipment and the testing equipment listed above. Topics not covered include splicing, termination and Optical Spectrum Analyzer use. You may bring your own test equipment if you prefer to use that for the hands on training segment.
