“Faith, Healing and Mental Health Psychospirituality”

Wednesday, September 30, 2020 12 noon to 1:30
Moderator Dr. Glen Bembry, Jr.

Our environment is loaded with pain and suffering. During these unprecedented times of a global pandemic and racial injustices, we wish to provide a conversation for faith leaders, chaplains, educators, and many others who are in the forefront as responders for those who are traumatized now due to systemic racism and these stressful times of a global pandemic. ACAP is school which understands its need to support and provide talk sessions for faith leaders, to provide proper skills for mental health during these times. Faith and spirituality have traditionally been a part of the cultures of those of African descent. The faith community has always brought therapy to worship formats for people of color. We will bring faith leaders of various cultures and backgrounds to the table to talk about race, gender, and sexual orientation, crucial issues to explore in clinical training during troubled times such as these.
