In collaboration with Booth Hill Farm, we are pleased to again offer our Therapeutic Riding Program. Therapeutic Riding has many benefits for children with special needs including physical, sensory, emotional, cognitive and social. This program will introduce the child to all aspects of the riding experience including: becoming familiar with the farm setting, the animals, the equipment and the aspects of riding.  The program will be instructed by Linda Adams, Owner and Director of Riding Services at Booth Hill Farm. Linda is a licensed riding instructor, teaching locally for over 30 years.  She is a member of AHA (American Hippo-therapy Association) and NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped).

All children are required to wear long pants, boots and have a helmet.

Due to the composition of horses and ponies at Booth Hill Farm, there is a maximum weight and height limit for participants.  We can take children up to 110 lbs and 5 ft tall.

The Scituate CORSE Foundation (Community of Resources for Special Education) is a 501(c)(3) which was established by a group of dedicated parents and educators to raise funds to provide the highest quality educational, social and recreational community experiences so students with special needs can reach their full potential.  Through fundraising activities, the Foundation is able to allocate funds for a wide range of supplemental resources that will benefit students, parents and educators within our community.  The Foundation cannot fund basic staffing and services required by state and federal education laws. However, with alternative funding, integrated social, academic and recreational student programming, technology, professional development and parent training can have a profound impact on those whose needs are greatest.  For more information, please visit our website at www.corsefoundation.org

For 2016, these programs have been generously supported by grant funding received from the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, Grace E. Brooks Trust, Evan Henry Foundation, John W. Alden Trust, Scituate Rotary Club, South Shore Playhouse Associates and Kate's Voice as well as our community fundraising supporters.
