The New Hampshire Lakes Association (NH LAKES) cordially invites you to attend the 2012 Lakes Congress on Friday, June 22, at Church Landing at Mills Falls along beautiful Meredith Bay. The theme of this conference and networking event is “Loving Our Lakes.” This nineteenth Lakes Congress offers an excellent opportunity for lake enthusiasts, lake association members, state agency personnel, researchers, lake and watershed management professionals, and political leaders to exchange information, ideas, and experiences. The Lakes Congress also introduces new approaches, products, and services to help us all work together to better manage and protect lakes and ponds. The plenary session will include Darby Nelson, author of the new book “For Love of Lakes,” who will talk about the paradoxical relationship we have with loving but hurting our lakes. Darby is an ecologist, professor emeritus, and author who speaks from the heart about the importance and legacy of lakes. And, Tom Burack, Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services will talk about the past, present, and future of New Hampshire's lakes.
