Tibetan Language I

This 6 session Classical Tibetan course is designed for beginning students with no prior knowledge of classical Tibetan. We will cover the Tibetan alphabet and grammar. Tibetan is a unique language in that it was develped in the 7th century specifically to translatethe sacred Buddhist texts from India by meditator scholars. The study of Tibetan today can help one have a greater appreciation for the rich tradition of
Buddhist ideas, texts and thought.
