Brain Diversity and the iGeneration

A Conference for Parents, Teachers and Students

Technology has facilitated new insights to the brain that are revolutionizing practices in education and parenting. At the same time, technology pervades our daily lives and students (digital natives) beg to be taught differently and clamor for relevance. At this conference we will learn how theories of learning, parenting and teaching are evolving and what we can do to encourage and support brain development in the igeneration at home and school.

Presenters include: 
  • Martha Kaufeldt, is the author of "Begin with the Brain", a master teacher and frequent presenter. Most recently she spoke at the 28th annual "Learning and the Brain" Conference in San Francisco.
  • Yalda T. Uhls, M.A., M.B.A., is a research scientist at the Children’s Digital Media Center@Los Angeles, a doctoral candidate in psychology at UCLA, and frequent speaker and writer on digital media and development.

SORRY STUDENT PROGRAM FULL - REGISTRATION FOR STUDENTS IS CLOSED

 While parents and educators are attending the conference, a concurrent interactive program will be offered for students:

  • Understanding Your Brain: Neuroscience - What's in your head? Why are you, you? How do you remember what you did last week? Here is your chance to learn this and more about your brain in this exciting neuroscience class!
  • Technology and Your Brain: Lego Robotics - Students will design and program a robot using Lego Mindstorm Kit. Your young engineer will use creative problem solving and gain new skills in computer technology.
Registration 
Pre-registration tickets for adults and students are $20 each. Our student program requires pre-registration. If available, adult tickets will be $25 at the door.  Space is limited!
