Tough Conversations:

The Art of Giving & Receiving Feedback

A workshop for the workplace

presented by Janice Kinder, President, Workplaces Can Work

A dynamic, half-day workshop designed to help you become more confident about handling tough conversations.

Say what you need to say & hear what you need to hear

Stronger relationships, leadership with more impact, and harmonious workplaces depend on our ability to handle difficult conversations openly and effectively. Giving and receiving feedback is required of most of us on a daily basis. Consider  how feedback delivered and accepted more skillfully might help when you are:
  • Mentoring and role modeling for direct reports
  • Interacting with higher levels of management
  • Collaborating more effectively with colleagues
  • Conducting authentic and useful performance reviews
  • Handling "difficult" employees or dealing with a demanding public

Workshops can be a safe and welcome getaway to practice new skills. Your career and job performance are not on the line, so it's possible to experiment with new behaviors in a way that is interactive and hands on.

You'll learn to:

  • Recognize high stakes conversations
  • Understand how others experience your particular style and approach
  • Separate myth from reality about givers & receivers of feedback
  • Appreciate the role of self awareness, essential to effective feedback
  • Prepare for and engage in challenging feedback sessions in a sequential way

What's in it for you?

  • Low on theory, high on new behaviors you can try the next day
  • Become a more valuable member of the team
  • Contribute in a more open way to communications and team building
  •  Build your network of colleagues committed to professional and personal development

"Thanks so much for your workshop on listening skills. It was very successful as indicated by a great deal of positive feedback from participants. I heard as much complimentary commentary on your personal delivery style as I have about any presenter in my tenure as CRC Director. You have truly wonderful rapport with your audience from the first moment."  ~ Director, Creative Retirement Center, International College, Naples, FL

"Due to your enthusiasm and dynamic presentation, our Technical Assistance Workshop Series was an unqualified success. Participants praised both the quality and quantity of information provided.
