 We all know the dramatic stories from the evening news: “Dozens of malnourished cats or dogs seized from a single-family home. Local animal control facility closed to assess the situation. Lives hang in the balance.”

It is precisely situations like this that prompted Iowa Humane Alliance to start our Pets For Life program. Through the Pets For Life program, IHA is able to mobilize our services directly into targeted neighborhoods that need our help the most. Join this important effort today and we will acknowledge your contribution by sending you a stylish IHA logo charm band that lets everyone know you support our life-saving spay/neuter programs! 

Just in time for the holidays, IHA presents our all-new IHA SPAY/NEUTER TO SAVE LIVES Charm Band. Your Charm Band donation will go directly to programs that can prevent situations like the one described above. Pets For Life provides non-judgmental services and resources for underserved areas: low-cost or free spay/neuter, vaccinations, pet food, pet supplies, training services, and transportation to and from IHA’s clinic for pets scheduled for surgery. By eliminating barriers to spay/neuter and helping low income families with basic pet needs, more pets can stay with the families that love them. Pets For Life reduces the risk of unwanted offspring and the need for costly, stressful animal control interventions, lowering the numbers of animals entering our local shelters.

There are so many ways that your donation can help! For example, $10 provides a rabies or distemper vaccine for a cat or dog in need. $50 could spay or neuter and provide a rabies vaccine for a cat. $75 helps cover costs to neuter and vaccinate a male dog. $100 can help to spay and vaccinate a female dog. Each surgery eliminates more unwanted litters brought to shelters or raised in the streets.
