John Kay, author, economist, FT columnist and would be reformer of the City, is widely acknowledged to be one of the smartest and best thinkers of his generation. Many read his weekly columns in the Financial Times, and his books, such as The Truth About Markets, Foundations of Corporate Success, The Long and Short of It and Obliquity. He is known in the City and in the business world as the author of the Kay Review into the shortcomings of the London equity markets, commissioned by the Department for Business, Innovations and Skills and published last year. He is also a visiting Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics and a Fellow of St John’s College, Oxford (the youngest ever when first appointed). Among other honours he is a Fellow of the British Academy and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. (For more details visit his website www.johnkay.com).
We are delighted therefore that he will join Capital Briefings for an hour long early morning debate/Q and A session on October 22nd in London. This is the second of a series of topical debates with leading figures in the political and investment world that we are hosting.
We very much hope that you will come and join us for what promises to be an informative and stimulating occasion, as the first such event in July, with City heavyweight Terry Smith, proved to be. Topics to be covered include the current crisis in banking reform, the future of the Eurozone, where next for the world economy and investment strategy in an uncertain world.
You can register for this event by clicking the button below. The event kicks off at 9am and will be over by 10.15 am. Refreshments (tea, coffee etc) will be provided, and there will be an opportunity to talk and network before and after the event.
A message from Capital Briefings’ founder Jonathan Davis, MCISI:
