Health in the Urban Community

The Ohio Urban Resources System (O.U.R.S.) is a statewide network comrpised of (9) nine Community Action Agencies in Akron, Canton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Erie-Huron-Richland, Lorain, Youngstown and Toledo. O.U.R.S. seeks to strengthen the social and economic security of families and their communities as a recognized leading resource for breaking the poverty cycle in Ohio. 

You are invited to join O.U.R.S. for the 2nd Annual Conference, November 2-3, 2017 at Hyatt Regency Columbus (350 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43215). This year's theme, "Health in the Urban Community" exploring and addressing physical, mental and behavioral health issues plaguing Ohio's urban counties. Conference workshop topics range from infant mortaility, social determinants of health to the status of the Affordable Care Act and opioid epidemic in Ohio. 

We are pleased to announce this year's Keynote Speaker, Dr. Quinn Capers, IV, an interventional cardiologist, medical educator, and associate dean of admissions at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Capers will deliver a thought provoking talk, "Unconscious Racial Bias in Health Care: The New Silent Killer and a Prescription for the Future."
