This workshop will expose students to a variety of sports medicine fields, concepts, and sports first aid. Students attending will hear from allied health and sports medicine speakers, including athletic trainers, physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons, and strength and conditioning coaches; learn more about sports medicine career options; learn or refresh CPR skills; and gain first responder action tips for icing, taping, bracing, etc. There will be demonstrations and small hands-on projects for response techniques and intervention. This course is for any student interested in sports medicine and sports first aid. Parents are invited to attend a general session and tour the Langford Sports Medicine and Athletic Training Complex at ASU to learn more about degrees in this area.

Tips for Attendees:
1. Bring an umbrella or raincoat in the event of rainy weather. There will be walking between buildings.
2. After you arrive on campus for assistance during the event, call (870) 243-4705. If you need assistance prior to the event, call (870) 972-3052.
3. If you plan to attend the CPR session for certification, arrive and sign in by 5:45 p.m. Friday evening. CPR begins at 6 p.m. You may attend training without receiving a CPR card. If you want a card, there is an optional $7 charge for a certification card at the time of training. Cash or checks made payable to Emerson Ambulance are acceptable.
5. Parents are welcome to attend the entire Friday evening.
