Saturday Scholars 5th-8th

No Easy Walk to Freedom
Create your own imovie on a Mac!

Nelson Mandela

In the first part of the morning session students will explore the life of Nelson Mandela as he journeyed on his long walk to freedom in South Africa.  Students will anaylze the lyrics to the song "No Easy Walk to Freedom" written and performed by Peter, Paul and Mary as the compare and contrast the events in South Africa with those of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States.  In the second part of the morning session, students will create an iMovie that will allow them to share what they have learned with friends and family.    

5th - 8th Grades:

Saturday, April 28, 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Cost:  $50.00 first child, and $25 for siblings of the same household
