with the underlying purpose she pours into each-- a purpose which stems from a commitment to

acknowledge commonalities and distinctions between the culture of Africans and their Diaspora.

Ray creates with both a vision to teach and understand the complex vision that Diasporic Africans are creating

for themselves, and humanity alike, as they navigate into the twenty-first century.
