Summer Book Club with Tergar Meditation Community

This summer the Tergar MSP Book Club will explore the book, Joyful Wisdom: Embracing Change and Finding Freedom by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche.


 Joyful Wisdom addresses the timely and timeless problem of anxiety in    our everyday lives.  Divided into three parts like a traditional Buddhist    text, Joyful Wisdom identifies the sources of our unease, describes    methods of meditation that enable us to transform our experience into    deeper insight, and applies these methods to common emotional,    physical, and personal problems. 

 The book club is led by Tergar MSP practice leaders Jeanne Lakso and      Stephanie Wagner and is open to all that would like to join.  Each session is  composed of optional tea/social time, meditation, and discussion about    themes found within the book. Please feel free to join any or all of the  sessions.  

More information will be sent at a later date with specific topics covered during each session.

The book club will begin 2 weeks following the St. John's Retreat and will happen every other Thursday.

Book Club Schedule
Each Tergar Book Club session will include a period of practice and discussion specific to the assigned reading in the book.  Additionally, we will have an optional period of socializing prior to each session.

6:30 p.m.  Optional tea/social time
7:00 p.m.  Opening meditation
7:15 p.m.  Book Club Discussion
8:15 p.m.  Closing meditation
