Summer Book Club at Tergar Minneapolis Meditation Center

Turning Confusion Into Clarity

by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche

Turning Confusion Into Clarity

Join us this summer to explore Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche’s most recent book, Turning Confusion into Clarity: A Guide to the Foundational Practices of Tibetan Buddhism. For anyone interested in Buddhist practice and philosophy, this book gives detailed instruction and friendly and inspiring advice for those interested in exploring the Tibetan Buddhist path. By offering guidance on how to approach the process and giving instruction for specific meditation and contemplation techniques, Mingyur Rinpoche provides gentle yet thorough commentary, companionship, and inspiration.

Over the course of six discussion sessions, we will read, meditate and share our experiences of the first half of the text, which offers an introduction to meditation and then focuses on the Four Common Foundation Practices, often called “the Four Mind Changings” or “the Four Thoughts that Turn the Mind to the Dharma.” The group will meet every other Thursday evening from 7pm to 8:30pm, beginning July 2 and ending September 10.

The book club is led by Tergar MSP practice leaders Jeanne Lakso and Andi Dumas and is open to all that would like to join. Each session is composed of optional tea/social time, meditation, and discussion about themes found within the book. Please feel free to join any or all of the sessions. More information will be sent at a later date with specific topics covered during each session.
