Topic: SunTrust Park Traffic - Planning for Opening Day

Description: Planning for a new, 41,000 seat stadium is not an easy task. It take a lot of coordination, hard work, and a team of dedicated people to make the game day experience safe and enjoyable. A major part of that game day experience is getting to and from the game. Join Georgia ITE as we learn more about the planning efforts, open day experience, and lessons learn from the man who led the effort from Cobb County. Lt. Lorens will discuss issues such as how do you deal with thousands of Uber riders, working with adjacent business parks, and preparing for an Opening Day on an active construction site.

This meeting will take place on the second floor of Live! at the Battery Atlanta (just outside SunTrust Park). In addition to the meeting space, the venue features a large deck overlooking the Battery, skee-ball, arcade games, and shuffleboard tables.

About the Presenter: Lt. J.D. Lorens is a 17 year veteran of the Cobb County Police Department. After spending time in the Patrol, Traffic Homicide, Internal Affairs, and DUI Divisions he now serves as the County's Special Events Coordinator. After graduating with an engineering degree from Reinhardt University, Lt. Lorens studied mechanial engineering at Georgia Tech.

Early Cost/Registration:   $30 Private Sector Member, $15 Public Sector Members, $15 Life Members, $10 Job Seekers, $35 for non-Members.  Students are free if regfistered online.  On-line registration via the ITE website (link below) ends on Monday, June 12th at midnight, or once the room limit is reached.

Late Cost/Registration: Walk-ups are welcome at the door as space allows; walk-ups and late registrants will be charged $5 extra.
