SECONDARY
Literacy Network
2018-2019

The network will include a book study of Thanks for the Feedback by Douglas Stone and Sheila Heen as part of your learning. CESA #1 will provide one book per paid seat. Literacy Specialists are essential instructional leaders in all learning communities. The CESA #1 Literacy Leader Networks are professional learning communities with a mission to discuss, collaborate, and support one another as we deepen our understanding of high impact instructional practices, and deliver relevant staff development for our teachers. (Topics and issues related to district and state literacy needs will be established and explored by members.)

The goal is to reflect, stretch and respond to the reading, writing, listening, speaking and viewing needs of our region’s teachers through staff development and collaborative coaching.

  • Network with other reading specialists and literacy leaders
  • Explore and reflect on current high impact literacy instruction research
  • Collegial conversation will foster a synthesis of new understanding

The network will include a book study of Thanks for the Feedback by Douglas Stone and Sheila Heen as part of your learning. CESA #1 will provide one book per paid seat.
*The book study is a small portion of the Literacy Network that grounds us in a common theme but is not the entire focus of the network.

Audience: Reading Specialists, Coaches, and Literacy Leaders
Note: This network is a community that works best with regular
attendance at each session - rotating/sharing seats is not recommended.

Secondary Facilitator: Rhonda Schoonover
