THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK
The Science and Art of Receiving Feedback Well

Description:
As educators, we swim in an ocean of feedback. We offer it and we receive it—in the classroom and faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences and peer-evaluations. But the fact that we are immersed in it doesn’t make feedback conversations any easier. Come and learn insights from the New York Times business bestseller Thanks for the Feedback: The Science and Art of Receiving Feedback Well. The workshop will

  • deepen your understanding of what makes feedback simultaneously desirable and dreaded
  • help you ask for the kinds of feedback you most need
  • offer strategies for working with the internal resistance everyone has to feedback
  • pose possibilities for giving feedback in a way that it might be heard

Who should attend?
Elementary and secondary school teams (school administrators, counselors, teachers, specialists, and special education teachers) and district office administrators leading action plans.

Presenter: Ann Garrido

Dr. Ann Garrido has worked as an educator for 25+ years, teaching pre-K through doctoral students. Now an associate professor in St. Louis, MO, she is also a consultant with Triad Consulting Group, founded by two members of the Harvard Negotiation Project to help leaders tackle their toughest conversations.
