Classroom Management and the Paraprofessional
(Virtual Workshop)
The word “para” came from the Greek and means; next to, alongside, to support. How can a paraprofessional, working alongside a classroom teacher, support a successful classroom environment?
In this three part series, participants will;
- Gain an understanding of the four components to a successful classroom environment; Climate/Culture, Expectations, Rules and Routines, Acknowledgement (which includes providing feedback and behavior corrections)
- Develop an understanding of their role in each of those components
- Explore tools and strategies to implement and support a successful classroom environment
- Recognize the “drivers” and functions of behavior as well as strategies to address those drivers/functions
- Create Action Plans to use in their settings
