2022 boys2MEN Fall Workshop: Dying to Live

(Addressing Youth Violence in our Community)

Overview: Youth Violence is plaguing our communities. The Young Kings of the Crowley Foundation have initiated its 12th Fall Workshop to combat mental health barriers and build a progressive community amongst young Black men across Colorado.

Purpose: Education is the key to our liberation. We will work with Young Kings to help them identify the Risk and Protective Factors for youth. Done in an effort to inspire real life connections between elements of risk and tangible resources to bring forth protective factors.

Demographic Served: 100 Young Kings Middle and High School are the focus for this workshop. Our focus is placed here to increase the number of positive contributing Black men to our communities.

Methodology: The boys2MEN Fall Workshop is designed to impact the psyche of each Young King, deeply. We have curated four engagements to address risk factors and also edify protective factors amongst young men. Our facilitators are relatable Community Leaders and Crowley Foundation Mentors. We’ve coupled this exciting energy with a Keynote Speaker who grew up in Aurora, Colorado and has been through the Juvenile and Adult Justice System.

Programmatic Needs: For all 100 Young Kings to have a full experience during the workshop - then lead a life in favor of progression. Family support is encouraged through therapy and intentional programming are areas that will increase impact and guarantee more progressive community members.

Donations are encouraged in order to keep this powered by the people!
