The WTS Charlotte Metro Chapter is pleased to host our Lunch Program on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 featuring Danny Pleaseant, Transportation Director- City of Charlotte, and Greg Boulanger, HNTB.
There will be three bond referenda on this year's general election ballot totaling $218.44 million. Charlotte residents will have the chance to approve these bonds so improvements can be made in the city. These funds will be used to:
Greg Boulanger will present an overview of the City Bond Program and provide ways on how you can advocate and show support for the City Bonds in the community.
Greg is the Charlotte Practice Leader for HNTB’s Charlotte office. With over 18 years of diverse transportation industry experience in poanning, engineering design, and construction management, Greg has been involved in nearly $3 billion in construction projects across North Carolina and the East Coast. He is chair of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Transportation Committee and member of the Aviation Committee and Board of Directors. He also is a member of International Transportation Engineers and the Construction Management Association of America.
Danny Pleasant will provide detail on each of the transportation and infrastructure projects, the status of each of these projects, and benefits these projects bring to the community.
Since 2008, Danny has served as Director of the Charlotte Department of Transportation. His organization plans, designs, builds, operates and maintains all aspects of the city’s transportation network. Before coming to Charlotte, he served for 14 years as Transportation Planning Bureau Chief for the City of Orlando (FL). Danny serves on the Executive Board of the National Association of City Transportation Officials. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, the Urban Land Institute, and the Congress for the New Urbanism. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers. He often serves on expert teams crafting solutions to transportation, urban design, and development issues at the national, regional, and local levels.
