Youth Event Covenant

I commit myself to uphold the following moral standards of behavior:

  • living by simple guidelines of love and respect for the rights, feelings, and property of others;
  • participating in all the scheduled activities, being in designated places and meals at all times;
  • remembering that this event is a Christian event, appropriate clothing is expected;
  • refraining from bringing and using anything considered illegal for a minor in WV;
  • obeying rules governing quiet hours, visitation, event participation, autos and off-campus food deliveries.

I understand that violation of this covenant will result in intervention and disciplinary action by the staff and could result in dismissal from the event.

By registering for FALL WORKSHOP, both camper and parent/guardian agree to abide by the Youth Event Covenant.

Youth Service Fund

During Fall Workshop, there will be a YSF store where youth can purchase hot hands, hot chocolate, snacks, and friendship braclets made by Threads of Hope.  There will also be auctions where youth and counselors can bid on fake mustaches, bubbles, rare Fall Workshop memorabilia and more!  All of the money raised from the store and auctions goes to the Youth Service Fund (YSF) which is the global United Methodist mission fund supported by youth.  Through YSF, United Methodist teens raise money for other teens doing ministry in their churches, communities, and the world.  Thirty percent of the money raised goes back to the global church’s YSF account to help on a global level and 70% stays here in the West Virginia Annual Conference to help youth serve locally and globally.  In 2017 alone YSF has given out $4,900 in support of youth serving in Kenya, Cuba, and South Africa.

 For more information about YSF,
or to apply for assistance from YSF, please contact

 I pray that the eyes of your heart will have enough light to see what is the hope of God’s call, what is the richness of God’s glorious inheritance among believers, and what is the overwhelming greatness of God’s power that is working among us believers. This power is conferred
by the energy of God’s powerful strength.

Ephesians 1:18-19  (CEB)

Life can be hard.  From family situations to school stress, where do we look for hope?  It’s natural to have questions.  It’s ok to have doubts.  Sometimes the best way to find hope is by wrestling with our doubts and asking questions

TOGETHER

 We are overwhelmed with negativity.  Social media and television are full of stories of heartache:  school shootings, bullying, and drug addiction.

 But, we are people of HOPE.

Christ offers us HOPE.

And that’s the Good News for our broken and hurting world!

Together we will pray, read scripture, and talk about situations that can feel hopeless.  Together we’ll seek out the HOPE that Christ offers to all - the HOPE the world so desperately needs!
