Join Phil "The Chess Coach " (Professional Scholastic Chess Coach) for the HomeSchool Chess Club's Summer Chess Camp, an online chess camp designed specifically for your homeschooled student! The HomeSchool Chess Club's Summer Chess Camp harnesses Coach Phil's specialized skill-set gained by teaching children how to play chess in brick-and-mortar classrooms and then applies these special skills to the children and families of our homeschooling community! The HSCC Summer Chess Camp provides your child with a unique opportunity to learn chess with other homeschooling children and families from across the country. Whether your child is an absolute beginner or a seasoned chess player, they're sure to enjoy the entertaining delivery, as well as the stimulating interaction with other students who share their interest and love for the game. The HSCC's 6-week camp offers 2 full-length chess lessons every week, chess puzzles, as well as world chess highlights and news. Your student will also have access to the ever-growing online HSCC community, providing a fun & safe environment for them to make chess friends that they can practice and play with all Summer long. The HSCC's Summer Chess Camp's a great and easy way to maintain chess as part of your homeschooling curriculum during the warm Summer break. We invite your student to join us today!
Program Details:
The HSCC Summer Chess Camp runs from June 4th to July 14th, 2018 (06/04 - 07/14), for a total of six (6) weeks. Two (2) full-length lessons are presented each week (Mondays [Live Lesson @ 9am] & Fridays [Video Lesson @ 9am]). ALL lessons are archived so your child can watch & learn from them at anytime during the course of the camp! A live update is presented every Thursday morning to inform family-members of tournament results, upcoming events and world chess news. In order to participate in the HSCC you must have access to the internet and an active Facebook account.
Tournaments:
A major highlight of The HomeSchool Chess Club™ is the weekly tournaments!
Twice a week (Wednesdays [1pm] & Saturdays [3pm]) live scholastic-grade, rated chess tournaments are hosted via Chess.com. (Once you've registered for the club you'll be given further instructions on tournament participation via your free Chess.com account.) All students receive virtual trophies for their tournament participation. However, the top 10% of every tournament receive either a physical medal (mailed to your home 7-10 business days after the completion of the tournament) or HSCC tournament credit (good for 1 free tournament entry).
The Summer Chess Camp registration includes lessons and tournament membership for 1 child ($64.50). To register additional children for the camp, please click ADD under the ADDITIONAL STUDENT option and register any other students that will be participating ($15.50 per additional student).
