Thank you to these teams/organizations that sponsored prizes for the 2016 Coaches Mentoring Challenge:

Oklahoma Coaches Mentoring Challenge

August 1 - November 30, 2017

An estimated one in three Oklahoma youths is in need of a mentor - someone to listen, to encourage and to set a positive example.

Hundreds of coaches and mentoring organizations across the state are responding by participating in the Coaches Mentoring Challenge, a four-month campaign to encourage Oklahomans to mentor young people in their communities.

The challenge has grown steadily over the past few years, gaining the endorsement of more than 425 Oklahoma coaches in 2016 and helping spread the word about mentoring through news, social media and word of mouth. The number of mentors recruited during the challenge has also increased each year, from 3,340 reported in 2014 to 4,140 in 2016, thanks to the hard work of participating mentoring organizations.

Oklahoma's fourth annual Coaches Mentoring Challenge is spearheaded by OSU coach Mike Gundy and OU's new head coach Lincoln Riley in collaboration with state mentoring organizations and the Boren Mentoring Initiative, a program of the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence.
