Patterson Veterinary University
Veterinary Professional Wellbeing Workshop
Northern Virginia

You may have heard . . . the emotional and mental health of veterinary professionals are at risk. Compassion fatigue and mental stress are detrimental to individuals, practices, and the profession. If you think it isn’t a problem in your practice, a look at profession statistics will likely change your mind.

Caring for animals brings joy to veterinary professionals. Most were called to this profession to enhance the lives of animals. But when it comes to ailing and suffering animals, financial restraints of pet owners, and other mental stressors, that joy can silently turn to pressure and depression, sometimes to the mental and emotional detriment of the caregiver.

Meals:  Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided

Credits: 8 continuing education credits are available from both RACE and VHMA.

Practice Enrollment$750 per course (includes 2 people), billed upon course completion. It is highly recommended that people from the practice attend together, allowing greater implementation and integration of the prgram within the practice.
If only one person from the practice can attend, the cost per individual is $400.00. If more than 2 people from the practice would like to attend, each additional team member is $350.00

Overnight Accommodations:
Several nearby lodging options are available; however, overnight
accommodations are not included in the course fee.
