Basic Top Down Socks on FlexiFlips

Have you been wanting to try knitting your first pair of socks? Have you been struggling with double-pointed needles? Have you been wondering about those FlexiFlips and how to use them? If you answered yes to any of these, this is a great class for you!

Over the course of three sessions, we are going to make basic socks, top down and one-at-a-time, using Addi FlexiFlips. The class schedule is as follows:

Session 1: Saturday, October 31st from 1:00 to 2:30pm

Students will learn how to begin knitting in the round on the FlexiFlips, after any sizing questions have been answered. Once everyone is moving along, we will go through and prepare for the upcoming steps so students may begin the process for the heel.

Session 2: Saturday, November 14th from 1:00 to 2:30pm

After two week to work the leg, we will fully tackle the heel construction and make sure all of your questions are answered. After everyone is comfortable with the heel, we will continue on and start discussing the toe construction.

Session 3: Saturday, November 21st from 1:00 to 2:30pm

Things move along quickly after the heel so we only have one week between sessions 2 and 3. We will get all of your final questions answered so you are ready to finish off your first sock. At this point, you will know everything you need to complete your second sock!

The pattern we will be using is Ol' Reliable Top Down Socks by Tanis Lavallee. Please download this free pattern through Ravelry before class begins.

Supplies included for the class are a set of FlexiFlips in a size US 0 or US 1, and one skein of Fuzz Family Baby Feet Sock Yarn. Upon your registration, we will reach out to see what size needles and what color of yarn you would like for the class. Not included but needed will be a darning needle to weave in ends.

**It is recommended that students are comfortable with knitting and purling, as well as basic increases and decreases.
